Publication planning can be a long-drawn process involving many steps along the way. A large global specialty pharmaceutical company sought Bioviser’s assistance as a strategic partner for a publication planning project. They needed an in-depth literature review, publication analysis, and strategic/tactical planning for a rare chronic connective tissue disease affecting multiple systems, with focus on a drug being investigated as a therapeutic option for the disease.
Bioviser initiated the project by forming a 4-member team that included two medical writers (with degrees in pharmacology), a project lead (with expertise in medicine, epidemiology, and biostatistics), and an experienced graphic designer. Working in a methodical manner, the Bioviser team partnered with the client and requested suitable inputs in a timely manner. We screened approximately 5000 journal articles using titles and abstracts and then performed full-text screening of relevant articles, data extraction, and data synthesis and summarization. Further, based on our understanding of the collected data, we provided tactical recommendations for future publications.
