A 100+ year-old global pharmaceutical company contacted Bioviser to seek assistance with manuscript writing in the infectious disease area. In this specific case, the within-family transmission of influenza virus from the first-infected patient in the family and treated with the study drug or a different antiviral drug was compared using a health insurance claims database. Also, this work used an improved transmission model to update the results of a previous analysis published in the previous year.
With close similarities between the previously published paper and the present work (including use of the same database and study period), the need to differentiate the current work and place it in the correct context was of utmost importance. Our expert team—with a sound understanding of epidemiology, statistics, and medical writing—completed the project to the client’s satisfaction, concurrently conducted pre-submission inquiries, and completed the journal submission within two months from the start of the project. Post submission, our team helped the authors to draft responses to reviewer comments and resubmit well within the time given by the journal.
